A drug kingpin jailed for 29 years after his role in a large drug trafficking conspiracy was exposed has had his million pound home seized from him. Ryan Palin, 38, was revealed as the man behind the EncroChat handle "Titch.com", which he used to organise the supply of some 700kg of cocaine and 40kg of amphetamines.

The conspiracy was finally unmasked after French police infiltrated the encrypted messaging platform in 2020. Palin, of of Mereworth in Caldy, Wirral, was previously jailed but his case was again before Liverpool Crown Court on April 23 for an application under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

They were quite some proceeds, with prosecutor Alex Leach KC telling the court that Palin had accrued some £8,670,674.91 from his part in the drug empire. Mr Leach KC went on to say that Palin currently has assets of some £1,078,358,91, comprised of his 58 percent stake in his home address in which his parents also have an 8 percent interest
